Baby quilt - flowers and birds
i completed the second baby quilt based on drawings sent by usha. i learnt from a few mistakes made while working on the first 'deer' quilt and this one was easier. for the first time, decided to experiment with free motion quilting and while the top is beautiful, the back was a bit crumpled so i had to put another fabric to cover the backing. honestly seems like a lot of time gets wasted on this - i may just prefer hand-quilting.
this picture shows the clouds and the fmq bit too:
i used the same fabric for the backing and the binding.
Tried some regular quilting with my new 'walking foot' and made a leaf pattern which is showing up quite nicely. i love the way the birds have turned out too.

am not sure the grass has been quilted in any conventional style, but i think the grass has turned out nicely.
