Quilt in May
finally - a quilt for ravi and me. it was supposed to be made with blocks sent in march by a group of quilters as part of a desi bee. elvira sent two lovely blocks, tina's and sandhya k's blocks were perfect, and brinda sent enough fabric with her block so i could make many more. since the rest of the blocks took too long to come, i made the rest. the quilt looks a bit strange with three blocks that don't match the main two (red and yellow) but i decided to include them as they were part of the original plan. am thrilled with the final effect.
there are a total of 16 ohio star blocks (12.5" each), one centre ohio star of a slightly bigger size, and the 16 plain offwhite blocks are also 12.5" each. i will be adding the 2" binding after doing some hand quilting that i am slowly doing. size is currently approx 72" x 84".
so beautiful, Sandhya, and your handiwork is so fine. I am glad you went ahead with what you had and made up the rest. that is what makes it unique and personal. you have to make another one, so that each boy can inherit one!
ReplyDeletethanks chinna. the nicest part is we are using the quilt everyday and i am enjoying that so much! will have to make two more if i want to make one for each of the boys to inherit (this one is def going to worn out completely)
