Butterfly quilt for Ramya

This quilt that I made for Ramya has been a bit of tough one as the fabric used was slippery and non-cotton. She wanted a quilt that would last for ever hence the choice of fabric. She was involved in the choice of colours and the end-product is beautiful - i am slowly starting to enjoy applique. this quilt took a while to finish as i couldn't finalise the base colour - am thrilled to have finally found fast-colour black. am actually very pleased with how neat the machine applique turned out too.

The nicest part was finding lovely fabric for the back in the same colours that were used for the butterfly.

This is a close-up of the quilting I did over the butterfly - really has come out neat :)

Chinna gave me this terrific idea of making matching  cases for all my quilts -  for storage as well as to use as a pillow, so here's the matching cover for this one.
