Shashank's woollen blanket
Just realised that I hadn't posted a picture of the final quilt so am doing it now. it was completed in sep 2012.
have started making granny squares in blue and white (crochet with wool) for a quilt for shashank - for a 60x90 size quilt, i am going to need about 315 squares - 4"x4" per square. have done approx 30 each, so have a long way to go.... will recruit my mother to finish it when she's here :)
these are lovely, sandhya, and i am totally impressed with your patience! are you using single thread or double thread? will you make a lining for it? you must post a picture of the finished quilt!
ReplyDeletethanks arundhati. it's thick wool so single-thread it is. and am not planning to make a lining - that i think stretches the entire thing funnily (had made my first one with a backing that i'm planning to remove). will finish it probably sometime next year - will surely post a picture when done.
ReplyDeleteit will be really comfortable and warm! will you join the squares with a contrasting color? or do invisible join?
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be beautiful Sandhya! You could join the squares with a contrasting colour, but since there are only 2 colours, possibly this will look beautiful in just the 2 colours.
