Tree of Life for Shashank
Finally worked on a Tree of Life, based on a beautiful quilted project I found on Pinterest. It was a surprise birthday gift for Shashank who turns 30 today, and I am really pleased that it stayed a secret, and reached him in time.
A big thank you to Suja for the wonderful freezer paper that helped me make really neat pointed leaves. As its a quilted wall hanging rather than to be used over a bed, I left the paper in, and stuffed the leaves with bits of cloth instead of foam. The leaves, birds, tree trunk and the quilted leaves are all hand-stitched, with the machine being used for the borders. Am really pleased with the effort, and I know Shashank loved it. Its approximately 2.5 ft by 3.5 feet, so a decent size to hang up. It will probably need to be framed to keep the white from getting dirty.
