Ananya's quilt

i had initially meant to spend april putting together the blocks that i was to receive in march as part of the desi bee. as i didn't get any by end-march, the april quilt was a quilt for ananya, whose birthday will be in may. hopefully will work on my quilt in may, along with one for manya whose birthday is in june. ananya's quilt was really colourful and i used up a lot of the fabric that went into ramya's, akshaya's and brinda's quilts. entirely made up of 2 and 1/2 inch strips, the rectangular 4x4 blocks quilt is really attractive, and was easy to make too. each of the blocks were pieced on a backing fabric (old pillow cover) and then the 16 of them got stitched tog, and then a light blue sheet became the back for the entire quilt. i did a lot of machine quilting, and the material got bunched up only in two places so i am very pleased.
